bruschetta with portobello shiraz sauce
appetizer - makes about 15 pieces
this makes a delicious and easy appetizer. try it with each of the three sauces for a unique and easy-to-prepare take on a traditional bruschetta.
ingredients
1 baguette (able to be sliced into about 30 1/2-inch pieces) olive oil 1 25-oz jar vino de milo portobello shiraz
directions
- preheat oven to 400.
- slice the baguette on the bias into about 30 1/2-inch pieces. brush both sides with olive oil.
- bake for about 5 minutes per side, or until crisp and golden. remove and cool. bruschetta can be made ahead to this point, cooled, and stored in a ziplock at room temperature for up to three days.
- top each piece of bread with two tablespoons of vino de milo portobello-shiraz sauce.
- place in the 400-degree oven for 3-4 minutes, or until hot throughout.
- serve immediately, while still warm.
